Around Dunlewey

You are in the Gaeltacht. The first language here is Irish although nowadays everyone can speak English. Irish is one of the oldest European tongues and was spoken for maybe 1500 years before English emerged.

Timpeall Dhún Lúiche

Is sa Ghaeltacht atá tú anois. Is í an Ghaeilge an phríomhtheanga anseo cé go bhfuil Béarla ag achan duine fosta. Tá an Ghaeilge ar cheann de na teangacha is sine san Eoraip. Meastar go raibh sí á labhairt ar feadh 1500 bliain sular tháinig an Béarla ar an fhód.
